Backfoot, one of the most vital parts of the swing, The big mistake that almost 100% of the kids are making is the backfoot in the swing . They are on the balls of the foot pushing forward, this is wrong. This causes the body to lunge forward and makes the body off balance. Now on the incoming pitch no matter where the pitch is located looks good to the batter because he lost his direction by moving out (lunging) to the ball at too fast a pace. Now he has no power because all his weight is on the front foot and plus another important fact the body is now ahead of the bat slowing the batspeed down. The key to the swing is the back foot staying back ,digging in for the back heel to turn backwards this takes a awful lot of work to develop this special skill which is so hard to find in today's kids playing ball.If you watch the good MLB Players in a game you notice how they have a different swing causes they stay back, back heel turning back, Even though he isn't playing now Barry Bonds is the best example of a player working his back foot correctly Mike
